The Late Gene "Groove" Allen, Founder / President and CEO

The man who had the vision to make a difference in the communities we serve. The collective of collaborators and organizers uniquely combine to bring edutainment to the masses.

Eugene Allen, affectionately known as Gene "Groove" Allen, hailed from Long Island, New York. He was an acclaimed actor celebrated for his dynamic performances in several iconic films, including *Boomerang* (1992), *House Party* (1990), *House Party 2* (1991), and the biographical drama *What’s Love Got to Do With It* (1993), which chronicled the life of the legendary singer Tina Turner. Aside from his acting career, Groove lent his voice to various commercial campaigns, providing voiceovers for well-known brands, including Coca-Cola, thereby showcasing his versatility in the entertainment industry.

Groove's career was multifaceted as he was not only an actor but also a music producer, and songwriter. His passion for music began at a young age, and he was a prominent figure in the hip-hop scene during its formative years. He was a member of a hip-hop group from the 1980s named Groove B. Chill, collaborating with Darryl "Chill" Mitchell.

When audiences think of the movie *House Party*, they often recall the film's remarkable cast and memorable scenes, including the famous Kid & Play dance. Gene Allen made a significant impact with his performance in this beloved 1990 film, contributing to its status as a classic.

In recent years, Groove had shifted his focus toward community service and empowerment. He was passionate about making a positive difference in the neighborhoods he engaged with and worked tirelessly to uplift others. Collaborating with an eclectic mix of artists, organizers, and community members, he strived to bring diverse entertainment experiences to a broader audience. To that end, he formed Groove E. Productions of which House Party Immersive is an arm.

Additionally, he was recognized as an educator and mentor, dedicating his time to nurturing and guiding the next generation of musicians, encouraging them to embrace their creativity and pursue their dreams in the music industry. Through these efforts, Groove left a lasting legacy in both the arts and his community. Gene "Groove" Allen went to sleep on February 12, 2025.

Emmanuel A. Taylor IV, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President

Emanuel A. Taylor IV, who is professionally recognized as BNA Allen on the music scene, made his entrance into the music industry at a remarkably young age, displaying an unwavering determination to leave an indelible mark on the cultural landscape. Over the years, he has successfully managed a variety of musical groups, most notably B&A, Doughboyz, and GoodFellas, showcasing his versatile talent in different musical genres.

His rise and recognition commenced in 1999 when he captured local acclaim with his heartfelt composition "Sister," a poignant piece performed during a junior high competition. This early success served as a catalyst for his burgeoning musical career, revealing his ability to connect with audiences on a deep emotional level.

In 2005, Allen had a pivotal encounter with the legendary music producer Teddy Riley at the Atlantis Music Conference, an experience that significantly advanced his career trajectory. After a brief but impactful move to the vibrant musical landscape of Los Angeles, he was fortunate to run into Riley once more at an airport. During this fortuitous meeting, Riley recognized and praised Allen’s exceptional vocal abilities, likening him to "a new and improved Keith Sweat," suggesting immense potential in his artistry.

Seeking to further expand his creative horizons, Allen collaborated with the accomplished songwriter Sigidi Abdullah to revitalize The SOS Band's iconic classic "Take Your Time." This collaboration marked a turning point in his career, as he shifted his focus back to songwriting and artistry. He also established a talent management company that he had previously overseen.

His New Jack Swing project emerged as a significant milestone in his career, featuring collaborations with renowned artists like Gene “Groove” Allen, Fatman Scoop, and Groove B. Chill. These partnerships not only enhanced his portfolio but also solidified his reputation within the ever-evolving music industry as an influential figure adept at blending traditional and contemporary sounds.

Most recently, BNA Allen has taken on the role of Vice President at Groove E. Productions and the House Party Immersive Tour. In this capacity, he aims to leverage his extensive knowledge and industry experience to drive organizational growth, while also honoring and upholding the artistic legacy of the late Gene “Groove” Allen, ensuring that the shared vision for innovative music continues to thrive.
